At the International School of Global Leaders (ISGL), assessment is designed to ensure that students demonstrate both conceptual understanding and practical competence aligned with Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards. Each assessment task reflects real-world cybersecurity challenges, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to industry-relevant contexts.
Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security
Assessment in the Graduate Certificate focuses on developing foundational technical and analytical capabilities. Students are assessed through:
- Case study analyses and reports simulating organisational cyber incidents and mitigation strategies.
- Practical laboratory tasks and hands-on exercises involving network and information security tools.
- Short quizzes and scenario-based tasks embedded within learning sessions to reinforce key concepts.
- Group discussions and presentations to foster collaboration and leadership in cyber settings.
- There are no formal mid-semester or final exams, reflecting the applied and interactive nature of the course.
Master of Cyber Security
At the Master’s level, assessments progressively build toward advanced, research-informed practice and strategic leadership in cybersecurity. Assessment types include:
- Advanced case study evaluations focusing on governance, risk management and compliance (GRC).
- Applied research and analytical reports addressing emerging cyber threats and digital forensics.
- Industry-oriented projects using platforms like Splunk and cloud-based simulation environments.
- Capstone Project: A substantial integrative project requiring students to analyse, design and present real-world cybersecurity solutions, demonstrating innovation and leadership.
- Oral presentations and viva-voce assessments to assess critical reasoning and professional communication skills.
Across all levels, ISGL’s assessment design ensures alignment with Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs). Tasks are authentic, varied, and scaffolded to encourage academic integrity, teamwork, and problem-solving in both individual and collaborative settings.
